Coaching

Goal-focused coaching for people in high-stakes work.

Goal-focused work if you’re carrying significant responsibility, moving through a transition, hitting a performance plateau, or working on a pattern you want to shift. Online, and available anywhere.

What we work on

You’ve started doing the math on how many more years you can keep this pace. The promotion landed and the thing you were good at isn’t the thing you do now. There’s a check ride (a pilot’s flight test), a promotion board, or an interview coming up and you want to walk in ready. A move or a new job has changed the shape of your week. A difficult boss, the politics of the place, or a conversation you keep putting off takes more out of you than the work itself. Those are the kinds of things coaching here is for.

BurnoutBurnout and chronic stress. How to keep doing demanding work for a long time without it costing you sleep, your health, or the people at home.
PerformancePerformance under pressure. Making sound decisions and keeping your judgment sharp when it counts.
RecoveryResilience and recovery. What actually leaves you rested, and how to fit it into a week that doesn’t slow down.
Role strainThe job itself. Whether to stay, how to make staying workable, and when to leave.
TransitionsLife transitions. Career shifts, a relationship starting or ending, becoming a caregiver, and working out who you are once the role changes.
StressStress management. Practical ways to settle your body and mind when the stress isn’t going away, because the job isn’t going to slow down.

How this differs from therapy

Coaching is for the kinds of things listed above, and for stress and burnout that come with demanding work and do not need treatment.

I’m also a licensed therapist. Coaching with me is a separate service under a separate agreement. It is not treatment, and there is no diagnosis. I do not provide therapy and coaching to the same person. If what you bring turns out to be clinical, I’ll tell you. If you’re not sure which fits, we can talk through what brings you here and go over the options.

Some of who I see

Coaching clients here are people in roles where being unsteady has real consequences: first responders, aviators, clinicians, attorneys, founders, and people running teams.

I’ve worked with first responders for years, including years riding along with police as the clinician on scene, and I’m a licensed pilot. If your job comes with its own culture and rules, that’s context you won’t have to explain first, and we can start on the question itself.
